Let’s start the news the way it is meant to, shall we?
So, from the beginning!
Ensemble Studio theater made an entry in the news lately, and it did so with an announcement.
An announcement of the line for the River Crosses Rivers II.
Now, for those of you who do not know; Rivers Crosses Rivers II is an evening that consists of ten minute plays. This time, this event is taking place from the 14th of September to the 17th of October.
It is in this event, that one of Regina Taylor’s plays, named Post Black, has been shortlisted by the board, for a viewing!
Yippee!
Now, the play is about a 110-year old woman, who meets some people at an airport. This woman, on meeting this young group of people, is compelled to face a generation that is ‘post black’!
The people who would be starring in this play are Ruby Dee and Carmen DeLavallade. These two women will play the central character, alternately, and the play will be directed by the woman herself – Regina Taylor!
Now, we have seen her act in The Unit. In fact, she does it so well that each time we see her, we are compelled to go for a download of the same.
Now, I do not know about you, but I never knew that this woman was also a writer, leave alone a director!
Anyway, now that the word is out, I think going over there and watching it would be a good deal.
I know it may not be possible for you to do that, but one can always try, right?
And now this thing also stands as a testimony to the fact that this woman is one hell of a talent and can do stuff!
This adds weight to the argument, that you should totally see her work – may it be the play or the stuff that gets aired on television.
Do you have something else to say?

But there must be someone, who gives the characters words to speak. Words that make us laugh and cry at the same time.
Now, what was the opinion again?
